Guest says Holly Willoughby won’t give in to ‘cancel culture’

Holly Willoughby is returning to This Morning alongside Josie Gibson on Monday, following a holiday in Portugal.

The regular ITV host has missed most of the Phillip Schofield drama during her extended break and viewers will be keen to see if she addresses her co-star’s exit upon her return.

Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary stepped in as presenters while Holly was on holiday, but some viewers feel Holly’s recent holiday snaps were in bad taste.

Taking to Twitter, John James said: “It leaves a nasty taste in the mouth that Holly Willoughby is sunning herself in Portugal while letting Alison and Dermot hoover up the [bleep] show on #ThisMorning.

“An Instagram Story is not going to touch the sides Holly,” they added, referring to her initial social media statement.

Tasha added: “It’s all planned out so she can come back on Monday as if nothing has happened.

“She is not so sweet and innocent as she looks. Just out to protect brand Holly.”

HK said: “I totally agree, they all should be treated equally. Alison and Dermot have held up so well.”

Eileen M Cumiskey slammed: “She’s going to come back on Monday all doe-eyed and smiling like the cat that got the cream.”

However, many fans of the show were quick to defend Holly, who always takes half term off to spend with her children.

Gayle Edwards said: “I actually think Holly is doing the right thing – distancing herself and getting on with life!

“Schofield can clean up his own mess! As for Alison – she would do well to take a leaf out of Holly’s book and keep it moving!”

Ashleigh explained: “Yeah…… Holly was always going to be off these two weeks. It was always going to be Alison and Dermot. It’s half-term.”

Leeann Wilkinson shared: “In fairness she always has school holidays off. Not her fault the need broke at the time it did.”

Michelle fumed: “So you deny her kids being off with their mum at half term!”

The row comes after Holly shared an Instagram post about summer hair care whilst in Portugal with her family.
