Holly Willoughby and Alison Hammond were back hosting together on ITV's This Morning – but there was a brief blunder.

Host Alison appeared to assume a technical blunder had taken place after the introduction showed very large vegetables from Daisy Payne. The duo gave a sneak-peek with what was happening in the show, but one thing prompted Alison to pause.

Holly said: "We've got a very busy show for you today so here's what we've got coming up. She's swapped her gardening gloves for a tape measure. Daisy Payne, wow that's a whopper!, is live at the giant vegetable championships.

"She's getting a sneak-peek of some of this year's entries," and the pair gave their commentary over the size of the veggies. As the intro paused over her segment, Alison asked: "Is she going to talk to us?"

Holly corrected Alison and explained that Daisy was just measuring them for now. Alison chirped: "I thought she was going to tell me about her big vegetables! I was ready for it!"

But while Alison was talking, Holly joked: "You just need to wait, you're excited, but you need to wait." Alison laughed and added: "I got excited! But she was just measuring her vegetables."

As they swiftly moved on Alison added: "Also on the show today, it's a good day," while a snippet of Josie Gibson hosting Blankety Blank appeared on the screen. As the clip wrapped up, Alison was the first to swoon over her pal.

She said: "Oh I love it, Josie has added game show host to her CV. Find out exactly what happened when she met up with Bradley Walsh and prepared for the brand new Blankety Blank series."

The hosts also explained that they would be welcoming people to talk about organising your house and the winner of the world's greatest pizza.

Holly has been hosting the ITV show with various co-stars since May, when Phillip Schofield announced that he would be leaving the show.

The likes of Alison Hammond, Josie Gibson, Dermot O'Leary and many others have been stepping in to join Holly on the weekday show.

This Morning continues to air weekdays on ITV from 10am.
