Hollyoaks and EastEnders actor Jamie Lomas has revealed his engagement to his girlfriend, Jess Bell.
Jamie, 48, is best known for his role as Warren Fox in the Channel 4 soap and has been with Jess for two years.
‘I had been planning it for a while and I wanted it to be perfect. We’d been in Lake Como a few weeks earlier but we both adore Mexico and I thought, “where better than in our favourite restaurant in our favourite resort in our favourite country?”‘, he told OK! Magazine.
Jess, 34, who works as a dentist, described her reaction and said: ‘Before I knew it there was this ring there and everyone was clapping and cheering. It was amazing; so wonderful and so very emotional.
‘I wasn’t expecting it at all. It was a total shock!’.
It was reported that Jamie and Jess had started dating back in August 2021. They met through mutual friends, then going public with their relationship the following year.
In 2012, Jamie married Coronation Street star Kym Marsh, but they divorced in 2014. They share a daughter, called Polly, who is 12.
His last relationship was with Portia Hughes, who worked behind the scenes at Hollyoaks. They split up in 2019 after a brief romance, with a source telling The Sun at the time: ‘Jamie was completely smitten with Portia and they grew very close, very quickly.
‘Unfortunately it was all a bit of whirlwind and they just couldn’t go the distance. They split amicably and she’s already moved on while he’s thrown himself into work.’
Jamie is the brother of Charley Webb, who played Debbie Dingle in Emmerdale.
Offscreen, the siblings enjoy an extremely close relationship with Jamie walking Charley down the aisle amid her soap star-studded wedding to Matthew Wolfenden, who plays David Metcalfe in the ITV soap.
As well as his role in Hollyoaks, he’s also starred in EastEnders as Jake Stone during a break he took from the Channel 4 fixture.
Jake was the ex-boyfriend of Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa). He arrived in 2013 and was in the show for a year, but returned during the flashback episode in 2015, which ruled him out as the person who killed Lucy Beale.
