A FORMER Coronation Street and EastEnders star has revealed they are running for mayor in West Yorkshire.
Tracy Brabin appeared in the ITV soap as Tricia Armstrong between 1994 and 1997.
During her time on the Cobbles, Tricia faced financial troubles and a spell in prison for non-payment of her TV Licence.
She also ended up falling pregnant by the Street's bad boy Terry Duckworth.
Thankfully she found happiness with decorator Ray Thorpe and the pair left Weatherfield together.
Speaking about her role Tracy said: "It's a huge privilege. Being a Northern actor, definitely being in Coronation Street is something ticked off the bucket list.

Her other acting credits include Doctors, Holby City, Casualty, The Ghost Hunter.
But now Tracy is an MP Batley and Spen is standing to become Labour's candidate for the role of Mayor of West Yorkshire.

Despite her shift into politics, Tracy has fond memories of her time on Corrie.
She told the Telegraph and Argus: "Corrie is a working class story of ordinary people in extraordinary circumstances, under extraordinary pressure.
"Here on Coronation Street, its an opportunity to get these working class experiences and voices out there, particularly women's voices. It's a matriarchal show.
"When I was in it, globally, 55 million people watched it. I'm still startled that people still recognise me from the show. They still remember my character's name."
