I'm a Celeb Danny Miller's fiancée says Emmerdale actor was her 'rock' as she reveals mental health battle

THE fiancée of I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here's Danny Miller says he was 'rock' of support during her anxiety battle.

Midwife Steph Jones gave birth to the couple's first child, Albert, just five weeks ago and opened up about her mental health struggles.

The 30-year-old gushed that Danny was "the light at the end of my tunnel".

“Danny has talked about his own mental health and how I’ve helped, but he never really takes credit for what he does for other people," Steph told The Mirror.

“He’s been my absolute rock and he’s never admitted how much he’s helped me. I’d hate to think where I’d be without him because I was so shut off, my mum was so worried about me.”

The couple was each other's first kiss at age 10 and dated as teenagers, but reconnected two years ago when they were "both in a really bad place".

“For him that meant locking himself in a dark room, playing PlayStation, and not talking. He would often get clammy hands," Steph admitted.

"He wasn’t good with public appearances. He would get stressed. But together we both found confidence."

Steph added: “I was also shutting people out. I had come out of a relationship. I was living alone and working 12-hour shifts.

“I went through this really low lull with really low self-esteem and I had anxiety.

“I think it’s easy as a woman to compare yourself to other people too and I just was not feeling good about myself. I’ve just never felt like that in my life before."

Steph explained that "Danny really encouraged me to talk and say how I was feeling. He referred me to a therapist he was using".

She added: “He also helped build up my confidence. I didn’t need many sessions but they really helped.

“He’d take pictures when I wasn’t aware and then show me and say, ‘Look at how beautiful you are’. It’s such a small thing but he really lifted me up.

“Now we know each other so well that we both know when something is up and we can help each other.”

The new mum also revealed she hated the negative criticism Danny was receiving for going into the camp when his son was only four weeks old.

“He is doing this show to provide for our family. I’ve had so many lovely messages from women whose husbands are in the Army and miss months of their children’s lives; of people who have no choice but to go to work,” Steph said.

“I was crying. Seeing him become a dad has made me love him more than ever. Albert is such a chilled baby. Every time he looks up at me I see Danny because they have the same bright blue eyes.”

She also revealed the couple are keen to expand their brood and won't wasted anytime when Danny gets home from Wales.

“We can’t wait to have more kids and we want to start asap – so straight after camp," Steph said.

Danny, who proposed to Steph in St Lucia in January, entered the I'm A Celebrity castle with a host of famous faces.

The Sun revealed how the 30-year-old had walked away from playing Aaron Dingle on Emmerdale after 13 years.

Speaking about his reasons for signing up, Steph told Lorraine: "We just spent two weeks in isolation together. We were quite privileged that he got asked to be part of the show because we got that quality time together.

"It was a really difficult decision being so close to the birth, but when we sat down and discussed it as a family, it's a big opportunity and he's always wanted to do it. It's his favourite show to watch.

"That was one of the biggest reasons, it's the biggest opportunity to his career, it meant he's got longer time off next year rather than working Monday to Friday 7am to 7pm."
