Is Dan Spencer leaving Emmerdale for good? | The Sun

ONE punch has thrown Dan Spencer and his family into turmoil after the mechanic tried to protect his daughter Amelia.

The Emmerdale favourite played by Liam Fox was charged with GBH which was escalated into a manslaughter charge after Lloyd's death.

What happened to Dan Spencer in Emmerdale?

A father's love knows no limits and Dan Spencer proved it again in recent scenes of the ITV soap after finding out Amelia (played by Daisy Campbell) was being stalked.

The teen mum has been working on growing her online presence as a social media influencer to help Dan make ends meet.

Dan's modest income was barely enough to help Amelia raise her own daughter Esther, which fully convinced the youngster she was doing the right thing.

Unfortunately, becoming an influencer has had devastating consequences.

Amelia garnered the attention of an unwanted follower named Lloyd Sawyer (Matt Sutton) but remained unaware of the unhealthy obsession as she was convinced he was a woman.

Eventually, Lloyd's online behaviour took a troubling turn IRL as he turned showed up in the eponymous Dales to see Amelia.

He initially cornered her in Mandy Dingle's (Lisa Riley) beauty salon, claiming to need a beard trim before revealing his true colours and trying to take advantage of Amelia.

Dan quickly jumped into action after learning what happened and the police became involved.

But both him and Amelia were left with a bitter taste in their mouths after the authorities dismissed their worries.

To top it all off, PC Swirling warned Dan not to overstep after being told he'd approached Lloyd to caution him away from Amelia.

Lloyd didn't listen to Dan and later spoke with Amelia in the local church, explaining he had no bad intentions.

The pair seemingly made amends, sharing a hug outside the church which Dan spotted from afar.

The mechanic confronted the creep once again with Lloyd openly goading him about how much time he'd be spending with Amelia.

Blinded by rage, Dan retaliated by throwing a punch… leaving Lloyd unconscious on the ground.

Is Dan Spencer leaving Emmerdale for good?

An ambulance was quickly called to the scene after Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) spotted his employee with Lloyd.

The Emmerdale tough man immediately tried to come up with a cover story for him, imploring him to keep it together for the sake of Amelia.

However, Dan decided to face the music and soon confessed what he had done to the police.

Things spiralled out of control for Dan in later scenes of the long-running drama as he not only met Lloyd's wife in hospital, where the stalker was sent, but he was also charged with GBH for his assault.

Amelia initially came up with the idea of lying about Lloyd attacking her to help Dan avoid a harsh sentence.

But when she was stopped, she decided it would be best for her, Dan and her daughter Esther to flee to Ireland.

The decision wasn't sitting right with Dan and, during their journey, he decided to turn back and head towards the village.

Unfortunately, this means that Dan is facing a manslaughter charge as Lloyd eventually died from his injuries while the mechanic was pleading guilty.

Dan Spencer will be seen enjoying his final days of freedom before his sentencing and although his lawyer tries to reassure him, the verdict is unknown.

Soap bosses nor Liam Fox have confirmed whether the character will be leaving the show for good, while this could depend on Dan's sentence.

However, fans of the Yorkshire-based program believe Liam Fox's exit may be temporary as he was recently cast in St Helens' Theatre Royal's production of Aladdin which will run from September 2, 2023, to January 14, 2024.
