He was urged by Ramsey not to “take any ****” while on the ITV series, while former show winner Gino D’Acampo advised him “it’s not a sprint, it’s a marathon” and “be ready for the long haul.”
The trio have been documenting their road trips sampling the cuisine, drink and culture around the world for ITV since 2018 and provided words of advice on how to survive on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! which starts tonight.
Fred, 51, also joked that he was more used to muching coq au vin than the animal genitals normally served to contestants of the show during challenges.
He revealed: “Yeah, Gordon called me. He told me ‘Fred don’t take any ****.
“And Gino’s obviously he’s been on it. He has been the king of the jungle. He said to remember, it’s not a sprint. It’s a marathon. It lasts a long time. And so you just have to just be ready for the long haul in there.

Fred’s champion diver daughter Andrea, 19, who is preparing to qualify for the Paris Olympics while he is in Australia, told him “you gotta be stronger that you got to stay focused and enjoy yourself”.
But Fred insisted while he lives his life as an “honest and truthful person” he may bite his tongue at times to avoid clashing with his fellow contestants, including outspoken Nigel Farage.
He said: “I’m not going to solve anything while I am there, so I think it’s a case of live and let live.
“We have to remember I’ll be here for three weeks and I’m trying to have some fun.”
While “everyone is going to have their say” and some are not prepared to deal with conflict, he said “it’s a question of being conservative.
Having grown up in Limoges he has been “eating good food since he was a lad” but he was not looking forward to the jungle grub.

He said: “I’ve had coq au vin, but I’ve never had straight ****. Once I have had it I will tell you how I feel about it.”
And because he is buff he is not fazed by stripping down to his trunks to take a shower on screen, a viewer’s favourite.
He said: “I’m alright, I’m not shy. And you know, we all have one shower and we have a shower together so it’s not a problem
“I can’t wait to entertain everyone. I hope the water is not too cold.”
