Jamie Lynn Spears has spoken of why she decided to share secrets about her sister Britney while she appeared on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
The 32 year old actress and singer was initially reluctant to discuss her popstar sibling on the ITV show – choosing to remain quiet as the other campmates talked about their families. However, she later opened up to her fellow celebs about their early lives, while also revealing behind the scenes tidbits about Britney's performance with Madonna and her Las Vegas residency.
It has now been reported that, during Wednesday night’s spin-off show I'm A Celebrity… Coming Out on 13 December, Jamie will reveal why she finally decided to open up on Britney while in the jungle.
An insider told The Sun: “She says that everyone in camp were talking about their families, so thought ‘why should I not talk about mine?’
“Jamie Lynn felt like she didn’t want to be the only one not sharing. It’s a heartbreaking moment that peeks behind the veil of living with fame.”
Former Made in Chelsea star Sam Thompson was crowned King of the Jungle on Sunday night and while the other campmates celebrated his victory during the boozy wrap party afterwards, Jamie Lynn sent a message of congratulations on social media, after having quit the show early. The mum of two left the show on medical grounds at the end of November after ten days in camp and flew back home to see her children.
Her exit, which came days after food critic Grace Dent, 50, also quit, was said to be linked to her missing her family. A source told the Mirror at the time: "She has been struggling physically and mentally for some time. If you look back even last week this is not a complete surprise by any means."
Jamie had spoken of her desire to quit the show before she finally decided to leave and became upset after eventual winner Sam likened her to the boy who cried wolf.
Speaking to Sam, Jamie said: "I hate it here so much, I hate it here so much, I hate it here so much. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it here. This place is where people go to have the worst days of their lives. Dear God, please help me to make it. I think I've got to leave, I think I've got to leave."
Sam responded by saying she was "the girl who cried wolf." Enraged, Jamie Lynn replied: "I'm not the girl who cried wolf, I'm speaking honestly about my emotions."
Sam then said: "You're never leaving, you're going to be here longer than we are." But Jamie Lynn concluded: "I'm not crying wolf, I mean it every single time I say I want to leave!"
Meanwhile, fellow campmate Nick Pickard revealed that Jamie Lynn was forced to wait 'hours' to leave the show after she had decided to quit because of severe weather. Hollyoaks actor Nick said that her exit did not go smoothly because, at the time, the camp was almost evacuated because of storms.
He said: “We had 12 days of rain and once for 48 hours it did not stop. That was the night Jamie Lynn went and we had to all huddle, because the only place that's protected in there from the lightning is the Bush Telegraph because it's the only place that is reinforced with steel.
“So we're all in there. And we were in there for ages. And that's when Jamie Lynn had the old like 'oh my god' moment.
"I think she told him just before that she was going on her medical grounds and we're all huddled in. That was the worst night by far because it was 48 hours non-stop.”
