King Charles III seemed to fight back tears as he paid an emotional tribute to his "darling Mama" in his first speech as King.
His Majesty addressed the nation for the first time as our monarch on Friday (September 9) in a pre-recorded message broadcast at 6pm.
It comes one day after his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II, passed away "peacefully" at Balmoral on Thursday, surrounded by her family.
His Majesty finished his speech with a heartfelt message addressed directly to his late mother and father, The Duke of Edinburgh.
In the speech, he thanked her for her "love and devotion" to the royal family, and for her many years of service.
He said:" To my darling Mama, as you begin your last great journey to join my dear late Papa, I want simply to say this. Thank you.
"Thank you for your love and devotion to our family, and to the family of nations you have served so diligently all these years."
He concluded: "May flights of angels sing thee to thy rest."
