Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi) has done her absolute best to support Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) since Leanna’s death in Emmerdale.

Throughout the initial grieving process, Liam was furious at the world for taking his daughter from him and regularly hurt Leyla’s feelings through upsetting comments.

During the lead up to the funeral, Liam considered banning her and Jacob (Joe-Warren Plant), leaving them unable to say goodbye to Leanna.

Despite Liam pushing his wife away and isolating himself, Leyla has stayed with him throughout what was one of the most difficult tests for their marriage.

That’s not all.

Throughout the ordeal, Leyla became pregnant and suffered a miscarriage.

Initially unable to tell Liam, Leyla eventually revealed her secret and, fortunately, they still kept their relationship intact.

But will that all change as a new storyline begins for Leyla this year?

Emmerdale boss Laura Shaw recently hinted at what’s to come:

‘We’ve seen her be a huge support to Liam through the loss of his daughter Leanna but is all as it seems? Is Leyla really coping as well as she seems to on the surface or is there a bit more going on there that we’ll uncover?’
