Love Island chaos as ‘herd of ostriches’ storm villa as producers told ‘be wary’

Love Island bosses discovered a group of birds had landed in the Spanish villa, but it’s fair to say no one will want to couple up with these ladies…

As ITV producers finished the final touches on the brand-new villa ready for the latest batch of sexy singletons to find true love, they were bombarded by an unexpected herd of ostriches at the bay.

It appeared as though the group of feathered animals also liked the look of the new campsite for this year’s eighth series of Love Island.

But it’s fair to say the new residents are more deadly than they look, as ostriches can run up to 45mph and are capable of kicking a human to death.

Clearly the flock of birds meant business, as they descended on the villa and started violently pecking around the grounds.

A source revealed to the Mirror: “Producers have to be careful as they have powerful legs and are known to lash out when disturbed.

“They seem very interested in what’s going on inside, so the team have been told to be wary, and humans can easily rile them up.”

Daily Star has reached out to ITV representatives for a comment.

The arrival of the new neighbours comes just hours before the new Islanders find out who the public have voted for them to couple up with.

In addition to a brand-new villa comes an introduction of new format changes to the TV show, which previously allowed the five ladies to step forward for one of the five hunks based solely on their looks.

Explaining the change in format, host Laura Whitmore revealed on this evening’s launch: “For the first time ever, we asked the public to play cupid and pick the boy they thought you should couple up with.”

Luckily, model Tasha Ghouri, 23, confessed: “I trust the public” as she confidently placed her love life in the hands of the general public.

Love Island starts tonight (June 6) at 9pm on ITV2.
