Love Island Zara and Olivia’s ‘beef’ is ‘no act’ as fans question their history

Love Island stars Zara Lackenby-Brown and Olivia Hawkins get embroiled in a shouting match in upcoming scenes of the ITV2 dating show.

Tension started brewing between the pair when bombshell Zara entered the villa as a late arrival and they go head-to-head over Tom Clare during Monday's (January 23) episode.

During her first challenge, Zara chose to brutally brand Olivia as the most "two-faced" islander.

Things got worse during the recoupling, when Zara decided to steal Tom from Olivia.

Since the situation has turned tense between the girls, fans spotted the pair have a connection on the outside world.

As well as following each other on Instagram, they've commented on each other's posts long before the show started.

Fans are also certain their outside history is less than sweet, with some suspecting their latest argument was deeper than a fight over bombshell Tom.

One fan kicked off the conversation, tweeting: "I think that Olivia & Zara have beef from the outside and it’s not all Tom."

"Something definitely happened between Zara and Olivia outside the villa, this feels personal," a second weighed in.

A third wrote: "After finishing tonight’s episode I’m convinced Olivia actually has beef with Zara outside the villa cause Tom not all that for her to be this hateful to Zara."

Body language expert Inbaal Honigman has shared her expert advice on what could really be going on between Olivia and Zara, and claims that the "beef" between them is "sincere".

"Zara's body language is direct and honest," she started. "She looks straight at Olivia, her whole body is facing her adversary, which means she's perfectly present for the confrontation and she's committed to speaking her own truth."

"As Zara talks, she nods vigorously, which shows us how strongly she feels, and how sincere she is being. This is no act," Inbaal continued.

"Zara talks to Olivia with an admonishing voice, cross but not screaming, she's setting the record straight, not looking for drama."

Inbaal adds that the 27-year-old actress may have other things on her mind, including another bombshell that could wreak havoc on her time in the South African villa in the same way Zara has.

"At the same time Olivia is looking down, displaying uncertainty. She feels like something is off, perhaps worried of a set-up, or thinking who else is about to turn up," she suggested.

"Then she flashes her eyes up at Zara, making eye contact, to demonstrate that she's not frightened of her, and then, Olivia just leaves. Removing herself from the situation, Olivia wants no part of this scene.

This appears spontaneous and natural, not pre-planned," Inbaal concluded.
