Love Island's Sanam was left overcome with emotion in Sunday night's episode after being told her late dad would approve of Kai.

The bombshell met with her mum Gayatri and friend Imaan, who both approved of her relationship with the Mancunian heartthrob.

Sanam was eager to hear her mum's thoughts on Kai and asked for her thoughts on him. She replied: "He seems like a pretty amazing person and he said that he will look after you.

"When I heard him say that, that really sunk into my heart."

But despite her loved ones being full of praise for how she had conducted herself throughout the series there was one other person she was keen to get the approval of.

After becoming tearful during their chat she asked her mum whether her dad would’ve liked teacher Kai as well.

"He would’ve loved him," her friend revealed, resulting in the floodgates opening. Gayatri told her daughter that her dad would 'have supported' her before Imaan said: "He's definitely looking down on you. He's proud."

Kai and his mum Jill and step-dad Kenneth joined Sanam and her family for the first time. Kai’s stepdad tells Sanam: “You look perfect together, I couldn’t have wished for a better partner for him.”

Sanam’s mum was also full of praise for Kai, telling him: "With how you’ve handled everything in here, it’s really up to our standard, and Sanam as well."

Turning to his parents, Sanam said: "Honestly, I think you’ve raised an amazing son.

"I mean that. He’s honestly treated me with so much kindness and care, I can’t even fault you, there’s literally nothing about you."

Love Island fans watching at home were as equally emotional, particularly those who could relate to Sanam after also losing a parent.‘

One fan of the show took to Twitter to say: "Sanam hoping her Dad’s looking down on her and proud of her. That got me & made me think of my Dad."

Another person tweeted: "My heart broke when Sanam mentioned her dad."

A third wrote: "Sanam your dad would be so proud of you I’m sure," before a fourth said: "The conversation Sanam just had about her dad has actually just made me really emotional. I can relate."
