After last night’s episode of Love Island saw Teddy Soares at risk of being dumped from the villa due to audiences voting him as one of their least favourite Islanders, his friends have come out to defend him.

Teddy quickly stole hearts when he arrived at the villa and ended up forming a romance with Faye Winter, with fans excited to see the pair couple up.

But while Teddy made a splash early on and quickly found his place within the main cast despite being a later arrival, he has now found himself falling out of favour with audiences.

As himself and five other islanders are up for a possible dumping – one boy and one girl will be leaving during tonight’s episode – and Teddy’s friends think it’s unfair he ended up in the bottom three boys.

Operating his Instagram account while he’s away on the show, a Q&A was held with fans after he was announced as being in the bottom three boys.

As one fan asked how he managed to be in the bottom three, his friends said that production was the cause, saying: “Not enough screen time.

"Let's get voting and make sure he's not in it again."

While audiences voted on their least favourite of the villa housemates, it will be up to the remaining Islanders to decide who ultimately leaves.

With two people set to leave the show, three more will be stepping in to take their place, with bombshells Abigail Rawlings, Georgia Townend and Tyler Cruickshank set to arrive tonight.

In interviews prior to their arrival, both girls expressed an interest in Teddy and would be sad to see him go.

Abigail said: "I really like Toby – I’m going to steal him from Chloe Burrows at the first chance I have. If that doesn’t work out, I like Teddy as well and Aaron,

"Even if I didn’t go in with the intention of stirring things up, it’ll happen regardless."

Georgia is looking to couple up with Hugo, but has also put Teddy in as a close second, saying: “Hugo – he is my absolute number one and I can’t wait to get to know him.

"Also, I love Teddy’s charm and charisma. I also like Aaron."
