Mick tells Janine he was sexually abused by Frankie’s mum in EastEnders

Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) opened up to Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) in tonight’s EastEnders, revealing he was sexually abused by Frankie Lewis’ (Rose Ayling-Ellis) mum when he was a child.

Being intimate with Janine has been a problem with Mick ever since they got together.

Things have been awkward between them, and Janine has failed to understand why Mick doesn’t want to sleep with her.

Initially, Janine thought it must be because Mick has only ever been with one person – Linda – but as Billy (Perry Fenwick) pointed out, he did used to be in a relationship with Whitney (Shona McGarty).

Tonight, Janine attempted to, ahem, ‘reignite Mick’s fire’, but there was a problem.

Her dress shrunk in the wash.

With help from Sonia (Natalie Cassidy), Janine arrived at Walford East wearing the shrunken dressed but wrapped in clingfilm in order to actually fit into it.

This of course led to a disaster, as Janine passed out in the toilets.

Back at home, Janine decided to ask Mick why he won’t sleep with her – leading to him revealing what happened when he was a child.

Mick told Janine he buried his trauma away for years, but when Frankie arrived, everything started to resurface.

He told his partner that as his abuser was a woman – Katy – he’s unsure if he can ever be intimate with another woman again.

Mick told Janine he understands if his trauma will be an issue in their relationship, but will Janine dump him?
