Annabel Croft discusses how she met her husband in 2022
A clip of Annabel Croft’s late husband appearing on GB News just months before his untimely death has resurfaced.
The usually “shy” Mel Coleman made a rare appearance on GB News Breakfast with Isabel Webster and Eamonn Holmes when the Northern Irish broadcaster teased Annabel about how she met her husband.
“Tell Mel I said hello! Mel, your husband in case you’ve forgotten him, you met while me and you were (working),” Eamonn quipped as Annabel appeared via video link.
“He’s lurking over there, he says hello back again!” Annabel replied before Eamonn said: “Hello, Mel – or ahoy I should say!”
Mel died aged 60 in this May just eight weeks after he complained about a stomach ache and he was subsequently diagnosed with stage three cancer.
Tennis ace Annabel met Mel when she was 21 years old and they tied the knot in 1992 following her retirement.
They were acquainted when she was working alongside Eamonn in a 1980s BBC show.
Looking back about running into each other last June, Eamonn told Annabel: “I was telling Isabel who doesn’t believe me that we all went on a boat and you made off with one of the crew members.”
She laughed and replied: “Well, all I remember, Eamonn, is that we were both very, very young, and all I remember was you staggering up from the boat one day on about day four.”

Eamonn started wondering how long it had been since he, Mel and Isabel had crossed paths.
Mel could be heard telling Annabel it was back in 1986 before Eamonn urged him to join the interview.
Eamonn told him: “The years have been very kind to you, you still look as handsome as ever.”
“Well, gone a bit silver fox but…” Mel replied before Isabel added: “Annabel, bet you haven’t had an interview like this, this morning!”
