ICONIC K-pop artist Moonbin has died at age 25.
Moonbin was found dead in his Seoul apartment by his manager at approximately 8.10pm local time, according to local reports.
The band's record label shared a message on the official ASTRO Instagram page confirming the tragic news.
"On April 19th, Astro member Moonbin suddenly left us and became a star in the sky," the announcement read.
A cause of death was not immediately made available.

ASTRO’s history
ASTRO was founded as a result of the "iTeen Boys" rookie talent development program, developed by their current management company Fantagio.
The group's name and final member lineup were revealed in August 2015.
The group appeared in the web drama To Be Continued the same month in an effort to get more exposure.
The actors in the drama included the cast members as well as Hello Venus, Kim Sae-ron, and Seo Kang-joon.

What to know about K-Pop group ASTRO
Fantagio founded the South Korean boy band known as ASTRO.
The group originally consisted of six members: MJ, Rocky, Jinjin, Cha Eun-woo, Moonbin, and Yoon San-ha. However, on February 28, 2023, Rocky left the original six-piece ensemble.
They made their debut on February 23, 2016, with their extended play Spring Up, and Billboard later ranked them as one of the year's top new K-pop performers.

Performance scheduled prior to death
Moonbin was scheduled to perform at the upcoming Dream Concert as part of the ASTRO unit Moonbin&Sanha before his death.
Since 1995, the Korea Entertainment Producer's Association has staged Dream Concert, one of the biggest K-pop joint events in South Korea.

Moonbin made his debut as a child model and ulzzang in 2004 thanks to his mother's assistance.
His first recorded performance was in the 2006 music video for the song "Balloons" by TVXQ, where he played a miniature U-Know Yunho.
He debuted as an actor in the 2009 Korean drama Boys over Flowers, playing a younger version of Kim Bum's character.

Moonbin was a South Korean singer, actor, dancer, model, and member of K-Pop group ASTRO and its sub-unit Moonbin & Sanha.
Moon Bin was born in Cheongju, Chungbuk Province, on January 26, 1998. He studied at Hanlim Multi Art School, where he received his degree in Practical Music.
Moon Sua, his younger sister, performs with the South Korean girl group Billlie.

Detectives on the scene
Detectives are on site, according to a tweet that cited the Seoul Gangnam Police Station.
There, it was confirmed that Seoul's Asan Hospital had prepared Moonbin's mortuary.

Moonbin found dead at 25
A manager allegedly discovered Moonbin, a member of the K-pop boy band ASTRO, dead in his residence in Seoul and immediately called the authorities.
His cause of death is unknown.
Moonbin was 25 years old at the time of his death.
