Strictly Come Dancing returned last week, which means It Takes Two with Rylan Clark-Neil and Janette Manrara also returned to BBC Two. On Tuesday evening’s instalment, Rylan was joined by Nina Wadia and her dance partner Neil Jones. But after seeing her holding something in her hand, Nina detailed the wardrobe malfunction which occurred because of Neil.

After talking about their first dance on Saturday, Rylan said: “Do you think you can keep it up?”

“I reckon she can do it,” Neil replied before something caught Rylan’s eye.

He noticed Nina was holding something and asked: “What’s that in your hand?”

Nina explained: “We had a bit of a fight before we came on, and he chopped off the straps on my shoes.

“He makes me wear these ballroom shoes everywhere I go, and then this, the straps come off!” she told Rylan.

Joking with Neil, she softy hit him with the straps in her hand and said: “That’s it, I can’t take it anymore!”

Laughing at her annoyance, Rylan exclaimed: “Commitment is really important, that’s it we’ve got the exclusive, we can all go home.”

Rylan went on to talk about the scores the pair received on Saturday night and said: “One of the high bits of praise on Saturday night, I think from anyone on the floor, Shirley said that could have belonged in week seven!”

“That was really nice of her, she’s my favourite judge, you know,” Nina exclaimed, with Neil teasing: “We’re trying to find out if that means we can go directly to week seven!”

Earlier in the interview, Rylan expressed to Nina how surprised and impressed he was with how good a dancer she was.

“We need to have a chat, I could not believe what I was seeing, Zainab got the moves!” he exclaimed to the dance duo, referring to her character on EastEnders.

“Neil, when you first got Nina, did you have any idea that she could move like that?” the It Takes Two host asked to which Neil promptly replied: “No, I had no idea.

“She told me she couldn’t dance, we spent the first day just trying to see what she could do, and she copied me on one movement and looked back and went, ‘that is going in the routine’.”

Nina has previously opened up in interviews that she had always danced like no one was watching and said that was her way of winning the show.

She also spoke about the fact she got the Samba for her first dance and how this style of dance has been branded the dance of death.

Rylan asked how she felt about the dance, to which she explained: “I was terrified because I heard you don’t want to get the dance of death.

“Don’t get the Samba, everyone goes home with the Samba, so I thought, great, why have they given us that, it was tough!”

Next week, Nina and Neil will be doing the Tango to “Would I Lie to You?” and Neil revealed that their rehearsals had already been going well.

Nina also told Rylan about her pre-show ritual that she does before every show and said: “I touch the ground before I step on.

“I have always done it, any job, any film, any theatre just touch the ground, I don’t know why I do it, but I have done it for years.”
