Netflix bosses battle to keep Bridgerton sex scenes off porn sites after cast left devastated

NETFLIX is battling to keep sex scenes from drama Bridgerton off porn sites.

The streaming service is at war with X-rated domains after steamy clips appeared featuring Brits Phoebe Dynevor and Regé-Jean Page.

The pirated scenes from the £5million eight-part period piece have had hundreds of thousands of views.

Many clips have been removed from adult video-sharing platforms while others have been suspended after Netflix warnings.

But Phoebe, who plays socialite Daphne Bridgerton, is said to be devastated.

An insider revealed: “Bridgerton’s sex scenes appearing alongside some of the most obscene material the web has to offer has sparked horror and anger.

“Raunchy set-pieces have contributed to the buzz but it is a prestige drama based on best-selling novels.

“To peddle scenes as pure smut is beyond the pale.

“It’s been particularly distressing for Phoebe and Regé-Jean, two young actors who signed on for the role of a lifetime and did not consent to being exploited in this way.

“Netflix have been working tirelessly to hunt down pirates and eliminate misuse of their intellectual property. Anyone thinking about trying this will have the full force of the globe’s biggest streaming service against them.”

Copyright breaches carry sentences of up to ten years in jail plus unlimited fines.

Phoebe, 25, previously defended the racy sequences in Bridgerton, saying: “It never felt like the sex scenes were just there for the sake of the sex scenes.

“They really told a story. They told Daphne’s sexual evolution and it was really important to get them right.”

The star said that she skipped sex scenes with Regé-Jean, 31, while watching the 19th-century drama with her mum, Coronation Street star Sally Dynevor, 57.

ONLINE porn is young adults’ most common source of sex education, being preferred to asking pals, partners or parents, revealed a US sexual behaviour study.
