Amy Barlow’s (Elle Mulvaney) life is on the line in Coronation Street, after her drink is spiked in upcoming scenes.
The teen is on cloud nine in the wake of her 18th birthday, and she’s excited to celebrate Valentine’s Day with new beau Jacob Hay (Jack James Ryan).
Following the school dance, Jacob invites Amy, Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) and Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) to join him at the club for a special night out.
Amy, however, becomes increasingly woozy.
The above clip, taken from the first of Monday’s (February 14) two editions of the ITV serial drama, sees Jacob grow concerned about her, after he clocks that she’s not quite herself.
Asha reckons she’s drunk too much, but Jacob knows there’s more to it than that.
‘Has she taken something?’, asks Jacob, confused about the state Amy’s in. Soon enough, however, he realises that she’s been spiked.
‘Call an ambulance!’, orders Jacob, much to Asha’s shock.
As he explains why, Amy collapses to the floor, leaving everyone stunned.
Will she be okay?
Subsequent scenes will see Jacob put Amy in the recovery position, and he later reveals that he thinks someone spiked her drink before she got to the club.
Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) and Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) are not pleased when they learn of what’s transpired, and they waste little time in pinning the blame on Jacob.
Coronation Street airs these scenes on Monday February 14 at 7:30pm on ITV.
