Outlander: Season 7 episode 2 trailer
Outlander’s Alexander Vlahos has detailed the moment he learned his character Allan Christie would be responsible for his half-sister Malva Christie’s (Jessica Reynolds) death.
The actor admitted he “really struggled” with the incest storyline as he always tried to “find some redeeming quality in the character”.
Recalling the moment he learned the truth about Allan, Alexander explained: “I was told in my first chat with [executive producers] Matt [Roberts] and Maril [Davis].
“They basically gave me a full rundown of the character and literally the whole thing and I was immediately like, ‘Oh, okay.’

The actor added to Metro.co.uk: “I don’t know how much you can do with poise and grace when it comes to incest – but they really have.”
Alexander shared he worked closely with his co-star and the producers to see if there was any scope for those scenes as he admitted he found it “tricky” to relate to his character.
He noted: “I always try and find some redeeming quality in the character, otherwise, what’s the point of playing them?
“You need to find – what’s my way in? What have Alex and Allan got [that’s] similar? And this was the first part where I really, really struggled with trying to find something.”
