Paddy takes a trip and Bernice is humiliated in Emmerdale tonight

Tonight’s episode of Emmerdale (Friday, April 14) sees Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) take another step forward after his decision to draw a line under his marriage.

As he goes on a trip, back home Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) is left pining over her secret love for her ex.

When Chas kissed Paddy earlier in the week, he was thrown and contemplated their future when she made it clear she wanted to try again.

Mandy was torn when Paddy confided in her over what to do, with her putting her own feelings aside to encourage him to follow his heart and do what makes him happy.

She was fully expecting him to decide to reunite with Chas, but eventually Paddy came to the conclusion that there was no way back.

With Chas now realising once and for all that her affair has destroyed her marriage, Paddy is focusing on his own mental health.

Following his suicide attempt, Paddy became part of a local men’s group, where male friends discussed their lives and emotions.

It was a real bonding experience and one that ultimately led Paddy to take a step forward.

There’s a long way to go but, tonight, Paddy enjoys a fishing trip out with some of the guys, and his dad Bear (Joshua Richards).

Everyone is in good spirits as they enjoy the company and the serene scenery, and it’s a real tonic for Paddy after a confusing week.

In the village, Mandy is putting Paddy behind her – or at least trying to. Noticing his mum out of sorts, Vinny Ashdale (Bradley Johnson) is keen to help her out.

When he suggests that she joins a dating app, Mandy is grateful for his support and adds that he is the only man she needs in her life.

Meanwhile, Bernice Blackstock (Samantha Giles) has also been combating her low feelings with a special club.

But when the members of the menopause meet-ups start cancelling the upcoming get together, she is left disheartened and humiliated.

Emmerdale continues on Friday April 14 at 7:30pm on ITV.
