Royal fans in hysterics as they spot woman asleep behind Prince Charles at pageant

Royal fans were in hysterics watching the Queen’s Jubilee Pageant, as they spotted a woman asleep behind Prince Charles in the Royal Box.

The pageant is the fourth and final day of a long and jubilant weekend of celebrations to mark Her Majesty’s 70 years of reign.

Finishing outside Buckingham Palace, the parade was led by Her Majesty’s Gold State Coach as thousands gathered on the Mall to watch before being closed by a musical performance by Ed Sheeran.

However, it didn’t seem to capture everyone’s attention, as many viewers quickly spotted while watching the pageant unfold.

Throughout proceedings, the cameras panned several times to the royal box and Prince Charles – with a woman sitting behind him fast asleep.

One viewer tweeted: “Who’s the lady catching 40 winks behind Prince Charles?!”

While another remarked: “Wakey Wakey! Omg imagine when she wakes up and looks at her Twitter feed.”

“That poor woman behind Prince Charles,” one quipped. “Her eyes just won’t stay open, will they?”

“Can someone please wake up that lady behind Prince Charles, she is missing everything!!”

Another joked: “The two people I admire throughout the [Jubilee celebrations]: the spirit of Prince Louis and the woman stood behind Prince Charles at the moment. She's asleep during all this noise, how does she manage that?”

One viewer also joked that she’d had a late night due to the previous evening’s Platinum Party at the Palace: “Can't help but smile every time the BBC pans to Prince Charles with the lovely lady in the background who just can't keep her eyes open.

“She's clearly partied hard this weekend. #PlatinumJubileePageant #giveheranudge #noddingoff.”

The royal box was full of excitement, with Princess Eugenie attending the celebrations with husband Jack Brooksbank and their one year old son August.

Eugenie bobbed her young son on her lap as the procession of buses and cavalry passed them en route to Buckingham Palace, dressed adorably in a blue jumper adored with a Union Jack.

Prince Louis, four, was also present at the pageant with his siblings, Princess Charlotte, seven, and Prince George, eight, having been absent from the previous evening’s concert.

He was seen being jokingly ‘warned’ by Mike Tindall as he pulled a cheeky face at his mum, the Duchess of Cambridge, and was also seen sitting on his grandfather the Prince of Wales’ lap as he began to get restless throughout the parade.
