Netflix has been forced to apologise after a technical glitch threw viewers out of the debut episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race season 13.

The much-loved drag queen competition returned to the streaming service in the UK this morning, having aired on New Year’s Day on VH1 in the US.

However, around 20 minutes in, the introduction of Tanisha Iman and Symone was disrupted by a credits card, offering to view trailers.

The card, which usually appears at the end of episodes to encourage viewers to try out other series, automatically threw viewers out if they didn’t make a choice, airing the trailers instead.

On Twitter, Netflix has released a statement to fans and wrote: ‘We’re aware of an issue with the new episode of Drag Race at the 20 minute mark and are looking into it.

‘For now, going back into the episode and skipping to ~21 mins should allow the episode to play in full. Sorry! We’ll update you when the issue is resolved.’

‘UPDATE: Selecting “Watch credits” allows the episode to play in full without taking you out,’ they added.

Drag Race returned in style for season 13 with 13 queens fighting for the opportunity to call themselves America’s Next Drag Superstar.

In the first major gag of the season, queens were introduced in pairs, and then surprised with a lipsync for your life in front of the judges immediately.

Those who lost the lipsync are now vulnerable to elimination which will be decided by their fellow queens.

RuPaul’s Drag Race continues Fridays on VH1 in the US and Saturdays on Netflix in the Uk.
