SEAL Team’s season four finale came to a satisfying end, even though Jason Hayes (played by David Boreanaz) had a medical mystery. With production for the upcoming CBS series in full swing Brock star Justin Melnick has taken to Instagram to tease Mandy Ellis’ (Jessica Paré) return
Actor Justin Melnick recently took to Instagram to share a photo of himself in character and excite fans for season five.
In the comments a viewer shared; “I’d love some more drop-ins by Mandy! If she isn’t a regular can’t she still be a frequent return! One episode last season was not enough!”
Justin responded to the fan’s comment and added a layer of speculation when he simply stated: “Me too!”
As Jessica Paré was no longer a serious regular and wasn’t killed off there is a good chance she could make a surprise appearance in season five.
Although her reasons for leaving the show were nerve disclosed, her character broke the news to Jason in season four and hasn’t returned to resume her duties
In the series, Mandy played a vital role as Bravo Team’s CIA liaison but unfortunately, this didn’t last long as she was demoted to interrogator after revealing the location of a CIA asset.
By season three, she was well adjusted into her role and was even romantically involved with Jason.
But after returning from deployment in Afghanistan and witnessing countless tragedies Mandy decided to walk away from military life in season four.
In the emotional scene, Mandy opened up to Jason and told him: “It’s not who I want to be, if I don’t walk away now, I’m going to lose myself forever and if I stay, you’re going to talk me out of it.”
Showrunner Spencer Hudnut had previously hinted at her return in a statement about her exit which read: “For Mandy’s story arc, it was finally time for her to retire and leave this life of service, but this does not mean we won’t potentially see her again later.”
The actress did return to set, but she was busy behind the camera making her directorial debut on the episode titled A Question of Honour.
Her potential return could see her rekindle things with Jason as the two have always had an underlying crush for each other but never made it official.
Mandy’s highly anticipated appearance could also be to encourage Jason to take a step back from his leadership role.
He may be forced to retire as he was experiencing some mysterious headaches throughout season four.
In the season finale it got so bad he had to stop mid-conversation to nurse his head, fans have speculated 20 years on the frontline could finally be catching up with him.
The finale also saw Ray Perry (Neil Brown Jr) finally seek help for the trauma he suffered while deployed.
In season four he had been held captive and beaten by enemies while the team was deployed.
He suffered from PTSD which had begun affecting his marriage as he never opened up to his wife about it.
However, that changed after a conversation with Jason made him realise asking for help wasn’t a sign of weakness.
SEAL Team season 5 premieres on CBS on October 10. A UK release date is yet to be announced.
