Seth Myers speaks on Tucker Carlson’s departure from Fox News
Fox News confirmed they had “parted ways” with their controversial political commentator Tucker Carlson on Monday.
While the news sent shockwaves across the United States, many talk show hosts were delighted with his departure.
Seth Meyers even dedicated his news segment, A Closer Look, to Carlson’s exit as he mocked the host and hilariously broke down the story.
During his late-night chat show, Seth shared: “There was stunning news in the world of politics and media today when Fox News announced they were abruptly cutting ties with their top-rated host, Tucker Carlson.
“Less than a week after a massive settlement over the Dominion Voting Systems defamation lawsuit.”
As he introduced his segment, Seth stated: “We’ve been doing this show for over nine years, eight of those have been dominated by the non-stop insanity of the Trump era.
“So I don’t think anything could shock me anymore, then today this happened.”
After the host played a news clip confirming Carlson’s departure he mocked: “Tucker Carlson is out of Fox News.
“Oh my God, does this mean Fox News has gone woke?” Seth dramatically added as the studio audience roared with laughter.

The 49-year-old host continued: “What are we going to do without Tucker?”
He then mocked the former commentator’s rants as Seth added: “Who else is going to tell us when M&Ms aren’t f**kable any more?”
Although Fox News have yet to reveal the reason for Carlson’s exit, they stated: “Fox News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways.
“We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor.”
Carlson had recently been the centre of a defamation lawsuit with Dominion Voting System which resulted in Fox News paying out a whopping $787.5 million.
He was accused of peddling a conspiracy endorsed by Donald Trump, claiming his 2020 election loss to Joe Biden was rigged.
However, private messages ordered during the case revealed Carlson had “passionately” hated Trump and he considered the conspiracy around Dominion to be “absurd”.
Late Night with Seth Meyers weeknights on NBC in the USA.
