The Fantastic Four and X-Men are back. Well, kind of. There will definitely be a new Fantastic Four movie, and probably a new X-Men. What will they be like? Who will appear? No one quite knows. No one even knows for sure when they’ll appear. After all, thanks to the ever-expanding Marvel universe, the characters could come up in any of the many upcoming Marvel projects. According to Small Screen, some fans think that the Fantastic Four, and maybe the X-Men, will make their debut in the new Spider-Man movie, Spider-Man: No Way Home.  

The new ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ reveals some of the characters that will appear in the new MCU movie 

If the new trailer is anything to go on, there will be plenty of characters in Spider-Man: No Way Home. This will be the last of the Spider-Man Marvel Cinematic Universe movies before the character returns to his rightful home at Sony, owner of the DC universe. The new trailer is just three minutes and four seconds long, but every one of those seconds is jam-packed with content. 

In the new movie, it appears Peter Parker will somehow get involved with Dr. Strange. A glitch in the multiverse will mean Peter confronts a ton of villains. Possibly more than 10 bad guys will appear in the new Spider-Man movie, including some old favorites. According to Time, Doc Ock and the Green Goblin will be reprising their roles from the Toby Maguire-era Spider-Man franchise. 

Will the Multiverse reveal old MCU characters?

With the multiverse in the picture, anything can happen. The trailer shows some crazy visual effects. Aside from cool stunts, the multiverse could mean that any and every character could appear in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Fans hope that this means X-Men and Fantastic Four will make an appearance, but they can’t yet be certain. 

It would make sense for Marvel to introduce the Fantastic Four in this movie for a number of reasons. First, Marvel has a habit of one project leading to another. They’re well known for the “stingers” at the end of their movies, which usually hint at the next Marvel project. Second, Peter Parker and Reed Richards are friends in the comics. According to We Got This Covered, Parker looks up to Richards as a mentor, so it would make sense for Richards to be introduced in a Spider-Man movie.

There’s not as much evidence that the X-Men will appear in the new Spider-Man: No Way Home, but fans can hope. 

If fans don’t get X-Men or the Fantastic Four in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home,’ there may still be hope 

Even if the X-Men or Fantastic Four don’t make an appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home, there’s still hope they’ll be on the big screen sooner rather than later. The new Fantastic Four movie won’t be out until at least 2023, possibly later. The X-Men project is still in its infancy. It doesn’t even have any kind of dates attached yet.

But fans may be able to see their favorite characters in Dr. Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, which is scheduled to premiere in 2022. The latest Dr. Strange movie will obviously deal with the multiverse. It’s in the name. Plus, we know Dr. Strange and the multiverse will be in the new Spider-Man, so it seems like this movie will tie into the next Marvel project somehow. Again, when Dr. Strange is in the multiverse, anyone can show up. Fans hope it will be the X-Men and/or Fantastic Four.
