STAR Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is finally out and there are a few moments in the saga-ending flick that's got fans asking questions.
So how did Luke Skywalker's broken lightsaber become as good as new? And why does Rey have a yellow saber? We have the answers below….
How did Luke Skywalker's lightsaber get fixed?
*** Warning: This article contains Stars Wars: The Rise of Skywalker spoilers ***
As many fans will remember, Luke Skywalker's lightsaber was cracked in half at the end of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
At the time, it appeared like the Kyber crystal, which powers a lightsaber, was cracked as well but it seems it must have still been intact enough to repair.
A closer look at the saber as seen The Rise of Skywalker shows that there is a new band in the middle of the lightsaber.
Rey seems to have used the band to help merge the halves back together and now the Luke's lightsaber is as good as new.
Why did Maz Kanta have Luke Skywalker's lightsaber?
Luke originally lost his lightsaber in Stars Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back.
But somehow the saber found its way to Maz Kanata's palace by the time we got to watch The Force Awakens.
When Kanata was quizzed about how she came into possession of the special saber, she simply replied: "That is a good question for another time."
Sadly, the time for the answer still hasn't revealed itself.
Perhaps we'll learn the truth in one of the Star Wars spin-off shows or films.
Why is Rey's lightsaber yellow?
A character named Jaden Korr used an unstable red Kyber crystal to create a yellow lightsaber.
And he was able to purity it into its yellow colour by using the force.
Yellow Kyber crystals are very rare indeed and were usually reserved for Jedi sentinels.

The colours green (the Jedi saber) and red (Sith) combine to make yellow so perhaps Rey took a kyber crystal from one of Luke's old saber's and combined it with Kylo Ren's red one?
Just as the Sentinels sought balance, Rey's yellow lightsaber seems to be a visual representation of how "balance" has finally been brought to the Force after nine whole movies.
