Strictly Come Dancing’s Nancy Xu admits she ‘didn’t feel a thing’ after injury

Nancy Xu didn’t notice wardrobe blunder on Strictly

Strictly Come Dancing professional Nancy Xu has opened up about the blunder she suffered on Saturday night which left viewers concerned for her wellbeing.

For their first live performance, Les Dennis and partner Nancy performed the Tango to Don’t You Want Me by the Human League.

Despite feeling confident after the dance and happy with how it went, the judges were left less than impressed and the pair ended up bottom of the leaderboard with 16 points.

As the pair went upstairs after their dance, many fans noticed that Nancy’s ear was bleeding and became concerned.

During Thursday night’s episode of Strictly: It Takes Two, Nancy spoke out about the incident and claimed she “didn’t feel a thing”.

Janette Manrara noted: “You have such a pro in Nancy, such a pro, through blood and sweat, you carried on because there was a bit of an accident with your earring.”

Nancy explained: “An earring! I didn’t even feel it, they gave me some paper and said, ‘Nancy there is blood’ and I said, ‘Oh is there?”

Janette praised: “Oh I always knew you were a machine!”

This Saturday, the pair will be performing the Samba to Rock The Boat by Hues Corporation with Les detailing his “posh character”.

Noting how rehearsals were going, Les said: “I am worried about getting any step right… The shimmy is not mine!”

The remaining 15 contestants will perform on Saturday night from 6:20pm on BBC One, with one couple sadly being eliminated on Sunday evening at 7:15pm.

According to bookmakers Coral’s, Les Dennis has odds of 2-1 to be the first to depart from the competition this Sunday alongside Nikita Kanda with 6-4 odds and Zara McDermott with 6-1 odds.

Coral’s John Hill said: “Nikita Kanda goes into this weekend’s live show under the biggest pressure to produce a big performance.

“Our betting suggests she could be involved in a dance-off with Les Dennis, with the radio presenter the most likely to depart.”
