Strictly's Tilly Ramsay is unrecognisable as mum breaks down in tears and proud dad Gordon watches from home

STRICTLY star Tilly Ramsay looked unrecognisable as she transformed for a romantic waltz performance in the first live show.

Her mum Tana broke down in tears as she supported the 19-year-old from the sidelines in the studio, as her "proud" dad Gordon watched from home.

Proving her TikTok routines with her celebrity chef father had helped, Tilly was praised for her stunning performance.

New judge Anton Du Beke said: "I think you'll do marvellously as you look just gorgeous."

Speaking to Claudia Winkleman afterwards, Tilly said: "Stuff to work on, but excited to do that and get to training.

"I had so much fun learning the waltz and performing it tonight."

The judges awarded her a total of 21 points – as her emotional mum beamed with pride after drying her eyes.

One fan said: "Great start to the show Tilly looked gorgeous in that waltz."

"Tilly looked lovely," added another.

Young chef Tilly revealed this week how Gordon got "upset" after she found a "new dance partner".

She said he wasn't thrilled at the thought of being replaced by professional star Nikita Kuzmin instead of him on TikTok.

Tilly, 19, and Gordon, 54, spent much of the coronavirus lockdown entertaining their fans on social media by taking part in dancing trends.

So there's no surprise the chef was left "really upset" that his daughter had found someone new to dance with as she signed up for Strictly.

But in a gushing post before the show aired, Gordon said: "Wishing these two the very best of luck ahead of tonight’s LIVE dance @tillyramsay @nikita__kuzmin @bbcstrictly.

"So proud of you Tills, love you from your dance coach extraordinaire Dad."
