Sunday Brunch: Samantha comments on Simon’s food

During the latest instalment of Sunday Brunch, Channel 4 hosts Simon Rimmer and Tim Lovejoy invited guests Aston Merrygold, former EastEnders star Samantha Womack and Harry Redknapp to the show. Mary Portas, Alistair Brownlee, Ian Broudie and Tom Odell also made guest appearances. However, viewers quickly became distracted when Simon carried out his first cooking demonstration of beans on toast.

Even guest Samantha had a cheeky dig at the chef as she told him the dish was like “posh student food”.

Taking to Twitter after the segment, viewers appeared to be rather confused by the simple dish.

One joked: “Beans on toast!!!! hahaha coming up next how to make a pot noddle #sundaybrunch.” (sic)

Another quizzed: “Simon Rimmer showing off his first-rate culinary skills this morning with a twist on beans on toast.”

“Has it really come to this?” a third asked as another commented: “Wtf are they making?”
