Ted Lasso: Annette Badland says no season 4 – but hints at a movie
Ted Lasso star Kola Bokinni hopes fans will “be patient” as there are more long episodes to come in the football comedy’s third and possibly final season.
Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk at the BAFTA Craft Awards, he said: “It’s a journey.
It’s 12 episodes, there’s more to come.
“We’re halfway through and some people have got to be more patient than they have been online, and let the story be told.”
When asked if this means longer episodes to come, Bokinni laughed and confirmed: “You bet. You bet. Films all the time.”
After last week’s 63-minute romp in Amsterdam, this could mean the remainder of the episodes will be the same length or possibly even longer.
Fans could even be sitting down for a feature-length finale in just over a month’s time.
Bokinni also addressed the rumours Ted Lasso could eventually come back for a fourth outing after co-creator and star Jason Sudeikis confirmed the story would come to an end with season three.
“Whatever happens, they’re all family,” he said.
“And I’ll be happy either way. I’m just so happy to get the opportunity to be a part of it in the first place.”

In Apple TV+’s hit comedy-drama, Bokinni portrays AFC Richmond centre-back Isaac McAdoo who eventually gets promoted to captain.
Last week’s episode, Sunflowers, saw Isaac join the rest of the team on a weekend trip to Amsterdam after a punishing round of Premier League matches.
As Ted mused over the team’s tactics, Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein) and Jamie Tartt (Phil Dunster) continued their training.
Meanwhile, Richmond’s owner Rebecca Welton (Hannah Waddingham) enjoyed an unexpected encounter with a mystery man (Matteo van der Grijn) and Coach Beard (Brendan Hunt) painted the town red.
Although Sunflowers received a largely warm reception from fans, some viewers also expressed concerns over the episode’s length.
Originally starting out as a half-hour comedy in season one, the follow-up saw Ted Lasso taking on a more dramatic tone.
Most episodes now exceed 50 minutes as season three delves further into the personal lives of the Richmond team and Ted’s own mental health battles.
With six more episodes to come, fans could have to prepare for at least six more hours of Ted Lasso content to enjoy or endure over the next few weeks.
Ted Lasso season 3 continues Wednesdays on Apple TV+.
