"We’re always getting the second season ready long before we know whether it goes ahead or not," executive producer Gareth Neame told Radio Times in January 2022.
"Because, you know, the moment we know we’re going ahead, we have to start—the cameras have to start rolling. So you sort of have to prepare."

What is The Gilded Age about?
As mentioned, the period drama takes place in the late 19th century.
It follows a young woman (Louisa Jacobson) who moves from rural Pennsylvania to New York City after her father's death, accompanied by an aspiring writer, Peggy Scott (Denée Benton), seeking a fresh start.
She moves in with her wealthy aunts (played by Christine Baranski and Cynthia Nixon), and soon becomes caught up in the aunts' battle with their neighbors, a railroad tycoon and his ambitious wife (Morgan Spector and Carrie Coon).
