The Handmaid’s Tale season four will arrive on Hulu on April 28 and fans are keen to see June Osborne (played by Elisabeth Moss) return. The dystopian series has seen some heroic characters come and go, one of which is the supporting character – Beth (Kristen Gutoskie). A new teaser video has been released and fans fear Beth may meet her demise in the upcoming season.

Will Beth die in season 4?

Fans have been waiting for almost two years to see June Osborne return after she was left severely injured.

A new teaser has been released and it sees June fighting for justice once more as she yearns for freedom against Gilead.

She is heard saying: “My name is June Osborne, mine is just one voice. Countless others remain unheard.

“Women imprisoned by men who can never be heard again. It is for those women I ask for justice.”

The teaser was released during the 2021 Oscars and it included a short but disturbing scene.

The scene shows two figures standing on the edge of a bridge on a dark, windy night.

One of the figures is then seen falling from the bridge and fans are almost certain it is Beth.

One fan said: “Might be Beth and Sienna on the bridge”, to which another replied: “Oh god please not Beth! I don’t think my heart could take it.”

A third viewer added: “Just saw someone posted a picture clearly showing it was Beth and her. My heart is actually broken.”

Twitter users said the teaser gave them “chills”, calling it a “powerful” video.

Beth was a Martha at Commander Lawrence’s (Bradley Whitford) household in the TV adaptation and she used to work at Jezebel’s.

She used to be a talented chef but was demoted to a kitchen maid at the brothel following the Gilead takeover.

There she befriended Nick (Max Minghella) and he became one of her lovers, sharing various forms of contraband with her.

By season three of the series, she was reassigned to the Lawrence household, where she runs into June.

Beth and Nick knew secrets about each other as Beth had contacts in the rebel network.

She was able to gain important information from the network whilst being in a relationship with Nick, who was an Eye.

Beth is played by 32-year-old Canadian actress Kristen Gutoskie, and her Instagram bio says: “Currently playing with fire metaphorically and literally on @thehandmaidsonhulu and #nbcchicagofire.”

She has not given anything away about her character’s role in the upcoming season.

In the last season, she played a huge role in helping June escort the children out of Gilead.

Speaking to People.com about what may happen in season four, she said: “My hope is that they can all come together and rebel from a secret hiding place. Of course, worst case scenario is they get caught.”

Marthas were at the forefront of the previous season and the actress was privileged to have highlighted Beth’s story.

She said: “It’s exciting. In this very restrictive lifestyle, Beth has always been able to take risks. I just love that the Marthas are getting to be better known.”

She also hoped fans would get to learn more about how she initially got involved with the resistance and helped Nick.

Fans will have to wait and see whether Beth’s time comes to an end in the upcoming season.
