The Masked Dancer fans are convinced that they’ve figured out the identity of Onomatopoeia – and think the clues could point to a star from the Big Bang Theory.
Last week’s show saw the judges decide to boot Odd Socks from the celebrity dance show, unmasking the character as Girls Aloud starKimberley Walsh.
The series – which features celebrity panellists Jonathan Ross, Oti Mabuse, Davina McCall and Peter Crouch – has also seen Candlestick be unveiled at Great British Bake Off star Liam Charles, Tomato Sauce be unmasked as presenter Steph McGovern and Pillar and Post revealed to be footballer David Seaman and ice skater wife Frankie Seaman.
Now fans are voicing their opinions on who could be next to be unmasked on the show ahead of the series grand finale on Saturday 22 October evening.
One viewer suggested on Twitter: "#MaskedDancerUK Onomatopoeia someone from Big Bang Theory?", while another one agreed, writing: “I was thinking someone from Big Bang Theory after the clues”.
Some viewers are convinced Onomatopoeia could be Kunal Nayyar, who played Raj Koothrappali in the series.
Another fan explained their theory, sharing: "I mean Bang is an onomatopoeia and Kunal Nayyar has been here quite a lot recently. He was even nominated for a BAFTA recently.”
Big Bang Theory actor Kunal, 41, was born in London but later settled in the US, where he became an actor, joining the sitcom in the role of astrophysicist Raj in 2009.
He appeared on the much-loved show until its conclusion in 2019.
On last week’s episode, viewers finally got to find out the identity of Odd Socks, with Girls Aloud star Kimberly explaining that she chose the alter ego of a pair of mis-matching socks because of her children.
As host Joel Dommett revealed there had been a Girls Aloud nod in every single clue package, Kimberley, 40, said: “I did this for my kids, they love this show. They have no idea."
She continued: "I had to pick Odd Socks, I’m a mum of three boys, that’s my life.”
Shortly before Kimberley's unveiling, Sea Slug was unmasked as Denise Lewis, 50, who won the gold medal in the heptathlon at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
“It’s been outstanding, seriously!” she told the panellists, before speaking on how she coped by keeping it all a secret.
“That has been the most challenging part of doing the show – not being able to say a word," she said.
Admitting she hadn’t even told her husband, Steve Finan O'Connor, Denise added: “Didn’t tell him… I’ve been the best student, I have to say.”
