The Pact viewers 'switch off' as they blast 'terrible writing' in BBC's season 2 | The Sun

BBC The Pact viewers were seriously unimpressed by the second series of the crime drama and blasted it for "terrible writing".

The Pact, series two has finally landed on our screens but it seems viewers are switching off already.


The show's second season features a new storyline and fresh cast, with the only returning star being Rakie Ayola, who plays social worker Christine Rees. 

But fans are not gripped by the writing of the show, as some branded it "terrible".

Taking to Twitter, viewers shared their complaints on the season.

One underwhelmed viewer wrote: "Don't think I'll bother with #ThePact tonight, I really haven't got into it."

Another disappointed viewer wrote: " #ThePact part two. Terrible writing."

A third penned: "Finished #ThePact series 2. Must admit I found it a struggle this time. Enjoyed the first one more. Definitely dragged in places. It had potential and a great cast but not one for me in the end sadly."

A fourth added: "Not a fan of The Pact part two, it's too slow for me."

Chatting about why Rakie returned for series two with a new role, the show's writer and executive producer Pete McTighe said Rakie is such a "brilliant actress".

He shared: " When we were casting for the new family, who were going to be mainly up-and-coming new talent, it made sense for someone of Rakie's standing in the acting community to be the matriarch of that group in real life as well as in the show."

Meanwhile in the latest episode, the walls are closing in on the Rees family now that Will is the prime suspect in the police investigation.

Christine is desperately trying to hold it together. As Beth and Joe get closer to figuring out what happened at the wedding.
