Tipping Point fans were left baffled on the latest episode of the ITV gameshow after two finalists served up one of the most “awful” rounds ever.

As four contestants battled it out to take home a cash prize, contestant Elisa soared into the lead with a lucky drop despite answer very few questions correctly.

After an initially impressive performance, fellow player Jack joined Elisa in the final two, but their performance in the round left viewers scratching their heads and pleading with network bosses to choose contestant with a broader range of knowledge.

The pair, who struggled to think on their feet, were asked a series of questions and left viewers in stitches with their bizarre answers.

Contestant Elisa was asked: “Corona is traditionally served with a slice of which green citrus fruit” to which her answer was “lemon”

“LEMON. I don’t get to watch #TippingPoint much these days but CHRIST ALIVE,” said one viwer.

Another question blunder followed with: “Which Channel Island is the largest?”

To which Jack replied: “The Falklands.”

Another viewer commented on the blunder: “This will be a great final between one that thinks the largest Channel Island is the Falklands and the other thinks a green citrus fruit in Mexican lager is a lemon #tippingpoint”

Another blasted: “There's been someone on Tipping Point who thought Benidorm was in Croatia, and another who thought the Himalayas were in Europe… how thick do people have to be to go on that show”

While a third added: “These two have 3 brain cells between them I’m sorry.”

Jack ultimately made it to the final and bagged £2500 to take home.

Host ben Shepherd recently left a viewer red faced after he savagely cracked up laughing at her gaffe answer.

Contestant Emily left Ben in stitches, along with the public when she was asked:

“Alan Lane named the publishing company he founded in 1935 after which flightless bird?”

Emily, keen to bring in some cash having bagged zero so far, buzzed in first, replying: “lady bird.”

Ben immediately was seen bowling over in laughter for several seconds before an embarrassed Emily said: “is it too late to change?”

After taking a few more seconds to regain his composure, Ben said: “Oh Emily, yes it is too late the change.”

To which Emily replied: “Yeah I’ve got that now.”

Ben then resumed his bout of laughter having clearly not got it out of his system yet.

Fans took to Twitter to react: “Ben mugged Emily off dirty. She's pi**ed,” said one viewer.
