Danger is lurking at Toyah Battersby's door in Coronation Street as Spider Nugent's past comes back to haunt them.
Spoilers for the latest episodes of the ITV soap reveal Spider (Martin Hancock) will be left terrified that Toyah (Georgia Taylor) has been kidnapped when a mysterious stranger arrives at her flat.
Viewers have been concerned about the direction Toyah's relationship with Spider is taking after a series of red flags earlier in the week, as she discovered more about her partner's past.
On Monday, Spider attempted to be more open with Toyah by talking to her about a job offer from his superintendent which would mean moving away and changing his identity, but would offer him freedom from the increasingly menacing Griff.
However, on Wednesday, Toyah uncovered some confusing and worrying information when she found bank statements showing Spider was nowhere near as skint as he had been making out.
Going through his laptop, she found evidence he had been messaging his ex and looking for houses near her, leaving her feeling like a fool – but Spider muddied things even further by claiming he had been trying to speed up his divorce and then dropping to his knee for a shock proposal.
Toyah's turbulent week is far from over, though, as in tonight's (Friday, 14 July) episode there will be ominous signs that she could have been kidnapped.
When Spider gets a message from his mystery pursuer with instructions to meet, he keeps the information from Toyah but tells his superiors, who send colleagues to covertly watch as he arrives at the meeting point in Freshco's car park.
But no one turns up, and meanwhile a strange woman arrives at Toyah's flat claiming to be his estranged wife.
Toyah begins making conversation while Leanne happens to run into Spider and is shocked when he tells her that his wife is not in the country – so the woman at the flat can't be her.
A terrified Spider tries to call Toyah to warn her, but even though she panics as she takes the call in front of the woman, she tries her best to act normal until Spider and Leanne manage to get there.
When they arrive at the flat though, there is no sign of Toyah – or little Sam Blakeman – and there has clearly been a disturbance – and the pair are horrified when they see there is blood on the floor. Will they manage to find Toyah and Sam before it's too late?
