Two surprise weddings to rock the village in Emmerdale's summer of love | The Sun

LOVE is in the air this summer in the Dales as villagers will get ready to celebrate two weddings.

One of the ceremonies will also mark the return of an iconic character, as teased by Emmerdale producer Jane Hudson.

ITV viewers have seen all the wedding drama unfold this week and the couple were recently thrown in cells before being told to get comfortable as they wouldn't be released any time soon.

While luck could finally be on their side when they suddenly get released, soap boss Jane Hudson has revealed there will be two weddings taking place this summer in Emmerdale.

Speaking to The Sun and other press, Jane said: "There is another wedding – at least one coming up before we get to the end of summer."

But the producer remained tight-lipped about who will be walking down the aisle.

"One of the weddings will be more traditional than Charity’s and Mackenzie’s", she simply teased.

And there's more as Jane Hudson also revealed a familiar face will be rocking up the eponymous village for one of the ceremonies.

"We will have a familiar face returning before the end of summer which I think the audience will be absolutely delighted", she said.

"Hopefully they will be here fore the foreseeable. The returning character is coming back for one of the weddings."

Several couples could decide to get hitched with Gabby Thomas and Nicky Milligan being the first to plan ahead.

The Home Farm nanny – who was revealed to be Caleb Milligan's son and Frank Tate's grandson – got down on one knee in recent scenes.

But as viewers have been shown, Nicky isn't being completely honest with his bride-to-be and there's another twist ahead.
