VANESSA Feltz got her just desserts as she was caught smuggling her beloved custard into work after admitting she drinks it to cheat her gastric band.

The 56-year-old made light of her recent admission as she arrived at work this morning brandishing pots of the pudding.

Joking around, perhaps the radio presenter feared being taken into police custardy, pulling a series of terrified faces as she clutched her snacks.

Custard and Vanessa go way back after a magazine claimed she was regularly drinking the stuff.

Yesterday she poured into custard-gate when she appeared on This Morning and revealed the naughty way she cheats her gastric band, which she had fitted in 2010.

She said: “I have a gastric band. It clamps your tummy a bit smaller than it is. You can have it reversed. It stops you having a big meal. You can’t keep doing it.”

Laughing, she added: “You can sliver something down, like a risotto, a shepherd’s pie or chocolate. It’s idiotic. People are complicated.

“You think you can’t have the chicken and salad so I’ll just have the custard!”

Vanessa, who famously lost six stone following her divorce and has yo-yo dieted over the years, previously denied she was drinking the stuff.

Poking fun at the rumours, she said: “I didn’t know you could drink custard. I didn’t know drinking custard was an actual thing.

“I have eaten custard, let me say that on the record often with crumble, occasionally with pie. I don’t think I have ever eaten neat custard, I’m not a sole custard eater.”

Despite sometimes cheating herself, Vanessa said yesterday that she is happier than ever.

She said: “I’m as happy as a human can be. I’ve got two magnificent grandchildren. I have two radio shows a morning. I’ve been with Ben (Ofoedu) for 12 years… that’s an achievement.

"He’s ten years younger than me and keeps me on the toes. I haven’t got much to complain about.”
