Waterloo Road star Adam Thomas wows as he poses for snap with co-star niece

Adam Thomas left fans over the moon on earlier this year when he revealed that he was reprising his role as Donte Charles in the new series of the Waterloo Road.

Loyal viewers will remember his character didn’t have the easiest of times during the BBC One high-school drama, including causing the death of his best friend Adam Deardon, before he went on to marry his childhood sweetheart Chlo Grainger.

And it appears as though the 33-year-old isn’t the only one who is returning to his old stomping ground as he joins the show alongside blonde bombshell Katie Griffiths who will also be starring as her former character.

But there are a few new faces on the block and one of them is none other than the Emmerdale star’s nieces Scarlett Thomas which he excitedly announced last month on This Morning.

The 13-year-old is following in her family’s footsteps after she bagged her first major TV role as the happy couple’s daughter, Izzy, who they left the show with during the fourth series back in 2009.

Taking to Instagram on Tuesday (1 March), Adam shared a selfie alongside the glowing teen as he updated fans on what it was like working with her on their first day on set.

He wrote: “My very first day back @waterlooroad … not only was it my first day but it was my first scene with my lil niece @scarlettjthomas26.

“Am just in awe of this girl, could watch her all day every day! … can not wait for you guys to see her in action ! What a special day [heart emoji and camera rolling emoji] Waterloo Road is back.”

Budding actor Scarlett left a comment, saying: “What an amazing day” as Adam’s older brother Ryan penned: “Hahah brilliant” before he shared the photo to his Instagram Story adding: “Go on guys!!!”

The TV star also shared a few behind-the-scenes snaps from his first day on set including his character’s name on his dressing room door and the other appeared to show him sat in a car with a Waterloo Road clapperboard moments before their first scene took place.

Other big names set to join the show include Kym Marsh and Angela Griffin cast in the school drama’s comeback.
