Who is Shannon Singh’s mum?

Yvonne, 50, is Shannon's mum.

Although the 22-year-old Love Island contestant is from Fife in Scotland, her mum is believed to be English.

It’s unclear what Yvonne’s livelihood is at this stage, although her dad Narinder, who is of Indian heritage, used to be a stripper.

What has Shannon Singh said about her mum?

Shannon has revealed both her parents are supportive of her career.

And the new celeb claims her mum encouraged her to pursue a career in glamour modelling at 18.

Shannon told the BBC’s Brown Girls Do It To podcast: "My mum was like, 'You should do glamour, you should do page three.'

"She took the topless photos of me and we sent them off to a London agency and I got signed within 11 minutes.

"It never bothered me, I think I’ve always been really confident with my body.

"Boobs are just boobs, I really don’t get the big hoo-ha with them.

"I’m probably getting judged so much. My mum and dad have never made it an issue."

Are Shannon Singh parents still together?

It is believed Yvonne and Narinder are still together.

Speaking about her family to The Mirror, Shannon said: "When people hear the name Singh, people automatically assume that I’m from a traditional Indian household.

"But it’s like polar opposites.

"Bless my dad – it was a long, long time ago he was a stripper, but it shows you I haven't been brought up in a traditional household and I'm proud to say I haven't.

"Dad did it on his own, he just went out on his own. His friend had an agency so he worked with him.

"Being an Asian family, I think it is something to be proud of."

Shannon paired up with Londoner Aaron Francis, 24, in the first episode of the series.
