Xtra Factor's Matt Richardson jokes he will NEVER present again with Love Island's Caroline Flack because they are 'cursed'

LOVE Island's Caroline Flack might be BFF's with her former Xtra Factor host Matt Richardson but he has ruled out another joint presenting stint because he believes they are "CURSED".

The funnyman, who was sensationally axed by Simon Cowell after their spin off show in 2013, admitted he was "obsessed" by Caroline's sun-soaked ITV programme – but wouldn't work on it alongside her.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun Online he said: "I think basically the curse for Caroline is when we do things together.

"That's when we get fired.

"I love the show but I think I would be bad luck."

Proving they remain close, he added: "We talk all the time, every day.

"And I'm obsessed with Love Island.

"I love Montana and really like Kem."

He continued: "I hate hate Amber, Chris and Olivia and obviously Johnny's gone now, so the nation breathes a sign of relief.

"You come out and realise you're the most hated man on the planet

"I feel a bit sorry for Chris sometimes because he's been going out with a girl that doesn't like him.

"I don't think Kem will win, Montana is so cool, I think she could win."

The pals lost their ITV Xtra Factor hosting gig and after Caroline was axed last summer, he was quick to blast the show as a "sinking ship".

The Didcot-born stand-up publicly stuck up for Caroline and claimed she was the ONLY good thing about the programme.

He told The Sun Simon Cowell's show – which suffered terrible ratings last year – was far from his mind now, and said: "I haven't watched it really since doing it.

"I don't have a problem with the show, it's just I don't really have time.

"I think it's been going on for so long, it's maybe a victim of its own success a little bit."

Yet Matt, 26, has seen huge TV success of late with a spin-off for MTV show Just Tattoo Of Us.

He has also been penning his stand-up show Slash, which will tour later this year following its debut at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Meanwhile he has been juggling work with pleasure and a stint at the Stella Artois Vantage Point event in London, where he gave his take on Wimbledon matches alongside former pro Goran Ivanisevic.

Stella Artois and Wimbledon present… Vantage Point runs at Flat Iron Square, London SE1 until 16th July, and at Birmingham’s Hawker Yard until tomorrow.

Open to those aged 18 years and over.

The Championships 2017 takes place until tomorrow, July 16.
