Though no new press conference has been confirmed, Boris Johnson is expected to make an announcement before Christmas at Downing Street.
It will see the Prime Minister give an update on the latest Omicron statistics and new measures to curb the spread could be introduced.
It comes as Dominic Raab warned on Monday, December 20, 2021, that there are no "hard and fast guarantees" more restrictions won't be imposed by Christmas to tackle the rise of Omicron cases.

However, the PM is believed to be considering a temporary return to the Step 2 measures enforced from April to May to tackle Omicron.
He is reportedly drawing up plans for a post-Christmas circuit breaker as early as December 27 to reduce the spread of Omicron.

He last addressed the nation on Wednesday, December 15, during a press conference, along with Professor Chris Whitty and Dr Nikki Kanani.
Mr Johnson issued a fresh pledge for more Brits to come forward for their boosters to help avoid the need for tougher curbs on daily life.
He explained that while hospital admissions are going up nationwide, we're starting to see admissions come down among the vulnerable age groups where boosters are in arms.
Before that, Mr Johnson held an unexpected press conference on Sunday, December 12, to announce he was quickening the rollout of boosters to try and ensure that everyone over the age of 18 gets their booster jab by the end of 2021.
