Boy George’s Grade II-listed Hampstead Heath mega-mansion, which boasts a skylight ceiling in the bathroom and a Buddhist meditation tower, has gone on sale for a staggering £17million. 

The Culture Club star – who featured on the latest series of I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here – is bidding farewell to the Gothic Italianate mansion in leafy North London.

The jaw-dropping five-bedroom home recently featured on an episode of the new Channel 4 series Selling Super Houses, which sees eight aspiring estate agents compete for the ‘job of a lifetime’ as they try to sell amazing properties.  

Originally known as The Logs, it was built for £9,000 – which is equivalent to £1.3million today – for engineer and developer Edward Gotto in 1868.

It features triple-height ceilings, a beautiful grand staircase and stained glass windows.

The Grade II listed Gothic Villa was built around 1868, and it sits on an a quarter of an acre plot overlooking Hampstead Heath

It also has marble work surfaces in the kitchen with floor-to-ceiling glass windows and a private bathroom with exposed brickwork and a giant skylight as the ceiling. 

The hitmaker’s mansion boasts a landscaped garden at both the front and the back, too, and off-street parking for multiple cars.

The house has been extensively refurbished since Boy George’s arrival with religious artefacts, gothic decor and colourful paintings – including one of David Bowie’s face.

There is also a DJ deck installed in one of the several entertainment rooms.

Boy George’s home forms the central part of a Grade II listed building that was built around 1868 and sits in a quarter of an acre overlooking desirable Hampstead Heath. 

The singer, who bought the home in the Eighties after the success of his 1982 hit Do You Really Want To Hurt Me?, described it as being in a ‘unique location’.

The refurbishment and extension of the home took three years and features a central staircase in a triple height central hall

The luxury property has six bedrooms, including this one with plenty of interesting artwork 

He isn’t the only celebrity resident to own this property, however, as British actor and comedian Marty Feldman came before him. 

Fellow high profile celebrity Sam Smith also moved in next door to Boy George in 2015.  

The average price of a property sold in Hampstead from 2021-2022 was £1,806,748. It compares to £327,693 for the country as a whole, according to property website Zoopla.

As well as six bedrooms, the house also boasts a significant number of bathrooms – five in total – including this modern one

Boy George is known for his sartorial style and several of his hats are on display in this living room, along with photos of iconic singer David Bowie
