A YOUNG bride has died of a heart attack just hour after getting married in an Egyptian village, it was reported.
Isra Shaaban, 21, was buried the day after what should have been one of the happiest days of her life.
She reportedly felt fatigued after walking into her new home in Medoum Village in Beni Suef Governorate, in northern Egypt, after her big day.
The young bride then felt sharp pains in her chest and needed to be taken to hospital.
Tragically she suffered a heart attack and sending her grieving family and local area into shock, according to Gulf News.
Her cousin Mohammad Hamed said: "Yesterday, we attended Isra's wedding where everyone was happy, today, we buried her.
“We were happy and participated in the wedding and an hour later we received the call. Sadness has afflicted the whole village.”
Local media said the village has been left in shock and many locals attended the young woman's funeral.
One villager was quoted as saying: "The bride felt exhaustion and sharp pains in the tummy and chest after the end of the wedding party.
"She asked her family not to leave her. The bride was taken to a hospital where she breathed her last on arrival."
It is unclear if the local authorities are investigating the bride's death.
A similar incident took place in Egypt several weeks ago when a young woman was suddenly struck down with illness and passed away at a medical centre in Sharqia Governorate days before her big day.
