BRITS have been left confused by a bizarre four-bedroom home up for sale that is completely WHITE with rocketship-like doors and bizarre metal toilets.
Every room in the half-a-million pound four-bed converted semi in the middle of Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, is painted white – and there are more TV sets on the walls than pictures.
The only splash of colour are red cushions on sofas in a couple of rooms.
And to round things off the video of the extraordinary house is accompanied by the stirring strains of Carl Orff's famous "O Fortuna" from Carmina Burana.
Comments so far include references to the sci-fi film "2001 Space Odyssey", a prison cell and the home of a serial killer.
Agents Belle Vue Estates say:"Having an extremely individual design, this property will take you on a spectacular tour of wonder and amazement.
"The unique home boasts both a touch of luxury and privacy whilst keeping many original and industrial features from its heritage and past."
But on-line viewers fail to appreciate the unique character of the property and are unanimous in their mickey-taking comments:
One wrote: “That screams serial killer! It's a private hospital with it's own morgue and autopsy room.”
Another added: “Hey, robots need homes too.”
And a third said: "Looks like somebody in the 80s was trying to design for the 2000s, and possibly under the impression that they would be able to take their house into space.”
The property was once a Co op store dating back to 1900 and is "situated in a perfect location for those wanting to be on the doorstep of the hustle and bustle of a community with a good range of coffee shops, bars and restaurants."
The area – Low Fell – is described as "an extremely popular residential location which boasts a good range of recreational facilities."
It also has a private roof terrace with "spectacular far reaching views", an internal garage and two detached garages as well as two parking bays.
The agents add: "This property is quite simply the most absolutely unique and fabulous accommodation we have marketed."
