A Bronx mother is charged with hiding 1 1/2 pounds of cocaine in her baby’s diaper bag after getting pulled over by state troopers while both her young kids were in the car.
Shante Pleasant, 33, was pulled over in upstate Coxsackie on a traffic stop on Tuesday, with troopers citing her for driving without a license, state police said in a press release Thursday.
But when police checked her 2008 Dodge Charger before it was towed, they found more than 25 ounces of coke inside her 7-month-old daughter’s diaper bag, the release said.
Pleasant’s 13-year-old daughter was also in the car along with the baby, police said.
The mother was charged with first-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, third-degree possession with intent to sell, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, the troopers said.
Pleasant is being held at the Greene County Jail pending a court hearing.
Her children were turned over to relatives in Coxsackie.
