Police have launched an investigation after finding a man’s body in his home ‘a number of days’ after he had died.

Officers were called to the property in Halesowen, West Midlands on Monday afternoon after concerned neighbours said he hadn’t been seen ‘for days’.

They discovered the man’s body inside the house and have notified his next of kin.

However in a post-mortem held yesterday pathologists were not able to confirm the precise cause of death.

The man’s death is being treated as suspicious while detectives carry out a forensic examination of the scene.

West Midlands Police force are now urging for anyone who may have seen anything suspicious outside the home on Manor Lane to contact them.

Detective Inspector Sangha Force CID said: ‘This is terribly sad. The man hadn’t been seen for several days, neighbours were getting no answer at the door, and unfortunately their fears were realised when our officers found the man inside.

‘One of our specially trained Family Liaison Officers is supporting his loved ones at this difficult time.

‘It’s unclear exactly when the man died but we believe it’s been a number of days’

‘If anyone heard or saw anything suspicious in the area in recent days – dating back to the start of November – then I would urge them to get in touch.’

Anyone with information is asked to call West Midlands Police on 101 and to reference 1692 from 15 November.
