Hollywood’s favorite final resting place was damaged by a powerful storm that pummeled Los Angeles with fierce winds that toppled trees and downed wires.

Downed trees and debris littered celebrity graves at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hollywood Hills in the wake of this weekend’s storm. Some of the trees were uprooted and headstones were toppled over. 

Many stars are buried in the famous cemetery including actress Carrie Fisher and her mother Debbie Reynolds who were laid side by side after dying within days of each other in 2016, as well as famous pianist Liberace, and actresses Lucille Ball and Brittany Murphy. 

In neighboring Mount Sinai Memorial Park cemetery, debris and a broken branch were strewn across the headstone of Bob Saget, the beloved TV dad and comic who died in 2022 at the age of 65.

The storms ravaged California over the weekend with strong winds that left more than 120,000 customers without electricity. More storms are expected this week.

Photos show the damage to the cemetery where a multitude of stars are buried or have been honored. 

Bette Davis, a beloved American actress with a career spanning more than 50 years is buried at the cemetery, along with Naya Rivera, one of the stars of the TV hit Glee, who tragically drowned at the age of 33.

The ashes of Lucille Ball, the TV icon from I Love Lucy, were initially located here until Lucie and Desi Jr. decided to place their mother’s remains in her hometown of Jamestown, New York, in 2002. 

Brittany Murphy, who became famous for her role Clueless and went on to star in Uptown Girls and Eminem’s 8 Mile, is among the ones buried at the cemetery. 

Paul Walker, who starred in the Fast and Furious franchise, and John Ritter, best known as Jack Tripper in Three’s Company and, later, as the strict father in the early 2000s sitcom 8 Simple Rules, are also both buried at the cemetery.

Michael Jackson’s funeral was held here in 2009, but he was buried at Forest Lawn’s larger location in Glendale, California.

Dozens of stars are laid to rest at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills including Harriet MacGibbon, better known as Mrs. Drysdale in hit sitcom The Beverly Hillbillies; John Wooden, the acclaimed UCLA basketball coach; and Forrest Tucker, also known as Sgt. O’Rourke in the TV show F-Troop.

George Raft, the actor who starred as a mobster alongside Marilyn Monroe in the 1959 comedy classic Some Like It Hot; Freddie Prinze, the Latino stand-up comedian and Chico and the Man star, who is also the father of actor Freddie Prinze Jr. are also among the many who have their final resting place at Forest Lawn.

Albert Broccoli, the producer behind beloved movies of the James Bond franchise, Morey Amsterdam, the actor best known as Buddy on The Dick Van Dyke Show, Isabel Sanford, who played the wife of George Jefferson in the hit 1970s sitcom The Jeffersons, and Ann Harding, who was nominated for an Oscar for Best Actress in 1930 for her performance in the film Holiday, are buried there as well.

Rod Steiger, the Academy Award-winner, known for his roles in The Pawnbroker, Oklahoma! and In the Heat of the Night, is buried at the cemetery, along with Sandra Dee, a teen icon in the ’50s and ’60s, who later became known for her mention in the popular Grease musical song, ‘Look At Me, I’m Sandra Dee.’ 

Elsewhere in the cemetery are the graves of Michael Clarke Duncan, the actor who starred alongside Tom Hanks in the drama The Green Mile; McLean Stevenson, the comic actor known as Colonel Henry Blake in the show M*A*S*H; and Lou Rawls, the Grammy winner who crooned his way to fame with hits like ‘You’ll Never Find Another Love Like Mine’ and ‘Lady Love’.

Andy Gibb, the youngest brother in the Bee Gees, who also had several solo hits like ‘Shadow Dancing’ and ‘Everlasting Love’ is also all buried at Forest Lawn. 

Beloved Happy Days actor Tom Bosley, who played Howard Cunningham, was laid to rest on the site along with Buster Keaton, the silent film star.

Nearby Marty Feldman, who was Gene Wilder’s right-hand man in Mel Brooks’ 1974 comedy Young Frankenstein, and Bob Kane, the comic who brought Batman to life in the 1930s, are buried.

Several other notable names at the cemetery include Steve Allen, who was the inaugural host of The Tonight Show in 1959, David Carradine, the actor who starred in the Kung Fu drama series, and Ricky Nelson, the chart-topper who was popular for hits like ‘Fools Rush In’ and ‘Hello, Mary Lou.’
